The Rosy Glow Sinks Below
When we first arrived there was no colour in the sky. The lower the sun sank, the warmer everything glowed. The first photo of this set, compared to the last look like they were taken miles apart, on a different day, in a different setting, not a mere five minutes and a slightly different viewpoint. Sunset, and it's warm, hazy glow, has always been a favourite time for me. There's something so special and unique about them all - I'll never see that sunset again. It serves as a daily reminder that the entire day, and every moment passing is unique, that we'll never see the like again. On the good days there is something bittersweet about this glorious goodbye to the day, in it being over, on the bad days it is almost a balm to the soul. In looking back through my archives I'm reminded that these days of my mid-twenties are gone, I can never live them again, and now, in these days where I'm struggling and everything seems a little darker there is a sadness in that, some days it feels like the best days are lost and gone. That, as the saying goes, it's all downhill from here. But there is a danger in only looking back. In forgetting about the other side of the night - the dawn.
