Glimmering Gold In The Grass
When I first started blogging, back when these photos were taken in 2012, I was posting daily outfit photos and it felt invigorating, not challenging, to create interesting or at the very least unique outfit posts every day. I've been taking new photos every day this year, which I'll be sharing chronologically later this year once I've revisited my entire outfit archive, but I'm only twelve days in and already I'm struggling. In part because the majority of my clothing collection doesn't currently fit, which I'm working on, but also because I'm challenging the custom I've ingrained over the last few years of safety and habit in repetition, in not being experimental, in trying not to stand out and be noticed, and while I'm not neccessarily trying to be noticed on a day to day basis for what I'm wearing I am trying to express myself more which results in more eye catching outfits and it feels exposing in a way, when I'm used to blending. It takes time to change habits, to let that stepping out of the comfort zone temper into comfort. But what else have I got but time just now? Time out of the normal day to day, time to reflect, time to change, time to experiment, time to create, time to grow.
I'm wearing:
Long-sleeved top (old): Matalan
Dress: Primark via a charity shop
Jeans: thrifted
Coat (old): H&M
Bag: market in Spain
Scarf: market
Boots: Ebay
Earrings: unknown
Brooch: gift from my parents
Beaded chain (wrapped round wrist): thrifted
